An Early Lecture Hall and Theatre in down-town, circa 1860-70s. Some storeowners chose to build wooden walkways so customers wouldn’t have to walk in the dirt that changed to mud in the winter. Wooden blocks paved some streets beginning in 1867, followed soon thereafter by cobble-stones that would spread throughout the downtown.
